July 2013 Newsletter

Hope you had a great 4th of July! We celebrated our independence while giving thanks for the brave soldiers that have allowed us to remain free. We also celebrated all of the wonderful things that we carry that are MADE IN THE USA, providing a quality product and giving additional jobs to Americans.
If you did not notice, we have new phone numbers and email addresses. These changes will give us better communication with you. Our new tech line is a cellular "home phone" (a cell phone in a small box with a big antenna) that sounds as good as a land line and will enable us to take it with us to Florida this winter. We anticipate this will give us much better coverage than the regular cell phone did last year. If you need an extra line they only run a flat $25 a month from AT&T... a good value.

Over 50 years of combined experience!
Don't get fooled by the foreign or internet companies that try to sell you a system at what appears to be a cheap price. The ultimate cost may be more than you are willing to pay. Here at SensorTags.com we have over 50 years of combined experience in the loss prevention business. We will not recommend something that does not suit your needs.
If you have environmental issues you can call and talk to us personally. If you do have an environmental issue that we are unable to resolve, generally there is another type of system that will solve the issue, and we are willing to trade out your equipment to make it work for you. Our guarantee is that you are satisfied and your system is functional. Please note our new telephone numbers and email addresses.
What to do about grab and run & other shoplifting tactics
1. What can you do about grab and run? JC Pennys uses ink tags for about the first 20 ft into the store for this reason alone. You can use an ink tag as the pin into your security tags on the most valuable items in that front area of the store as a solution. Ink tags when forced will damage the garments making the act of shoplifting a loss for the shoplifter.
2. What do you do after you catch the shoplifter? We recommend you contact your local authorities to verify what can be done in your area if shoplifters are caught. Every state has its own laws so be sure to ask so you can advise your staff of proper procedures.
3. Scare tactics work well too. Towers at your door, tags on your garments, cameras or fake cameras, & proper signage are all a first line of defense. Walmart for example puts signs in their bathrooms that state the maximum penalty if you are caught shoplifting (jail time and fines). It then says something like "Do not ruin your life, is a $10 t-shirt really worth it?"

Sensortags.com is one of the few companies that manufactures baseplates to fit your security tower so that you can install easily yourself saving $500 to $1000 on an installation. No holes in your floor means you can easily take the tower with you should you move.
