Securing Success: Retail Store Security Essentials for Back-to-School Season

• Review Security Protocols, especially with new and part time staff hired on for the back to school rush. Things like identifying suspicious behavior, proper fitting room monitoring procedures, POS fraud prevention, & emergency situations are crucial.
• Review Security Towers Make sure your systems are working and test often. Back-to-school shoppers often purchase bulk items, making it easier for a few pieces to go unnoticed if not properly tagged. Check to be sure you have plenty of security tags, pins and removers
• Coordinate with local Law Enforcement. Reach out to find a direct contact in case of an incident. Review what procedures are appropriate and share with them your peak hours.

Back-to-school season is an opportunity for retail success -- but only if stores are ready to meet the challenge.
