The Countdown has begun .... 3 months until Christmas!

This is when many stores open up new or temporary stores to capture the holiday rush of sales. Please let us know right away if you are planning an expansion so we can have available in a timely manner the tags and towers you will need.

Don't wait till last minute as we prepare towers as they are ordered & custom tune them for each store type and application. If you are not opening a temp or new store location, check your tag inventory as most stores boost their inventory for Christmas sales and you want this investment secured.

Once again, if you have not changed your contact info for us, note the new email addresses and the new phone numbers. Our physical address remains the same.

Put Smiles on Customers and Stop Shoplifters by removing the baggage.

Be prepared for an influx of customers entering your store with bags of goods bought at neighboring stores. Have a bag check area behind the cash register with some sort of signage that you are not responsible for loss or breakage of stored items.

Consider getting some double split numbered paper tickets (the kind they use for raffle drawings). Staple or tape one side of the ticket to the customers bag and place it in the designated area behind the counter. The other matching ticket half is given to the customer (like a coat check) and is used to retrieve the bag by ticket number.

The bag check prevents shoplifters from hiding valuable items in their bags, while freeing the hands of real shoppers to select items to purchase.

Tagging Coats & Weather Proof Clothes.

Bulky items like winter coats or bridal gowns should always be tagged with the largest tag possible. Thieves will wrap the coat around the tag to weaken it from being felt by your security system. A larger tag has a larger antenna inside it and keeps your larger items more secure.

Weather resistant clothing (rain slickers) or leather goods should not be pinned with a regular tag as it spoils the water proof aspect of the garment or puts a hole in the leather. For leather goods or water proof products, use a lanyard with your had tag and tag through a zipper pull or a button hole. You may want to double tag these items with a paper label up the sleeve or in the pocket, especially if it is a more expensive item. You may also consider a 3 alarm tag for items that are very expensive, as the 3 alarm tag will also ring if the lanyard is cut.

If you are having problems getting through to us by phone, please try the 812-201-5900 number. We have had a few customers let us know that occasionally the internet phones sometimes ring a fast busy signal or cut out.

Tips to Stop False Alarms

With fall weather setting in, cooler nights may start to make your towers a bit more sensitive. If you are experiencing false alarms, be proactive. Do not wait until your employees start to unplug the system to act. Move your tower at least 18 inches in from the door frame (if metal).

Clear everything away from the towers within 3 foot or so. Be sure they are at least 3 ft from heavy metal objects and 3 ft from your power supply. Be sure all cords are zip tied flat and not left in round open loops or stuffed in a bundle inside the tower as this will also cause false alarms.

If all else fails, call our tech support staff for a simple adjustment to stop these random false alarms. 812-201-5900 M-F 9-5 or by prior appointment.
